February 2006 BoD Meeting Minutes

NDIA-GLAC Annual Board of Directors Meeting, Feb 8, 2006

ATTENDANCE:
Present were: Steve Scott, Wayne Kauffman, Jeanne Innis-Olson, Dan Burkett (proxy), Jim Dalton, Len Jacobson, Lorne Caddick, Bob Conger (proxy), Spencer Bauer, Bryan Adams, B J Abernathy, Sydney Blocher, Nancy FitzGerald, Dan Foley (proxy), Jim Gates, Jim Grace, Chris Kalivas, Dave Murphy, Bob Recker, Don Tomajan, Bob Valleni (proxy)

Welcoming comments were presented by President, Steve Scott. Cutting Edge Communications provided lunch and a corporate briefing

Those board members present gave company remarks.

PRESIDENT’S REMARKS:
 John B. is on assignment in VA and no longer able to fulfill his duties as President. Steve Scott has assumed the office of President. Wayne Kauffman has graciously agreed to step in and fill the vacant Vice President position until the annual meeting in July 2006.
 Steve reviewed the Committee Staff assignments and participation
 Bob Conger, as Programs Chair, is targeting an Executive Breakfast in the May timeframe

SECRETARY’S REPORT:
Jeanne Innis-Olson was unable to get back to her office to pick up the minutes prior to the BoD meeting and promised to send out the minutes electronically by the end of the week.

TREASURER’S REPORT:
Dan Burkett was not present. There is not much financial activity expected until the WCD.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Membership:
Two potential new members were presented to the Board: Jay Staub (ARINC) and Bill Hutchinson (AT&T). The Board approved the new members.

Disbursements:
Lorne Caddick presented the disbursements proposal. The Board approved the $10K donation to the USO to be presented at the WCD. The Board decided to wait until after the WCD to discuss the other proposed contributions. Bob Recker voiced his objection to funding contributions to DARE.

Golf:
Spence Bauer reported that the golf tournament plans are progressing for 6 June 2006 at Los Serranos.

West Coast Dinner:
Bryan Adams presented the WCD report.
 Bryan volunteered to send out a pdf program and schedule by the end of the week
 Currently 50+ people signed up for the breakfast and 26 signed up for the luncheon. Need more people for the lunch.
 The WCD committee has put out bids for years events.

SMC Industry Days:
Bob Recker reported that Industry Days are on schedule for 11 – 13 April. The theme is Partnering Across the Space Enterprise.
